Hello everyone,

I have been getting some inquiries already about the retreat, and that is so exciting!  I am hoping to get the pricing worked out and the registration form by next week.  This is the first Family Camp, so planning is a little different this time.  One of the things that is different, is lodging.  Not only will there be lodging available, but we will have camping and RV spots available, too.  More information to follow on that, though.  :)

Family Camp coming August 2012!

 

 

Hello families,

Just sending out our first post regarding the next Above Rubies event here at Camp Brotherhood.  We have chosen August 10, 11 and 12th of 2012 as the date for our first ever Family Camp.  There are many more details to follow, but for now be sure to put this date on the calendar!  It is sure to be a wonderful time for all of our families.  We look forward to keeping you up to date on all the important information you will need.

Retreat schedule and Info

Well, it is just a few days away and I thought that maybe you would like to have the schedule and other helpful information for this weekend.

Check in time begins at 3pm, in the Warren Center, and will continue until about 6:45.  If you still need to register and pay, please be there earlier than later.  It will get quite busy the closer we get to Nancy speaking and want to make sure you get taken care of properly.  The first session will be starting at 7:00pm in Lower Warren.  Unfortunately, dinner is not provided Friday evening, so be sure to grab something to eat on your way to the camp or pack something to take along.

Here are a list of things to pack that can be easily forgotten:

Bible
Toiletries: soap, shampoo, etc.
Alarm clock
Ear plugs
Portable crib for little one, if needed
Munchies/Snacks for the snack table
Water bottle, although water bottles will be provided as well.
Umbrella
Layered clothing as weather can be a “bit” unpredictable here in Washington
Extra money to purchase resources and/or add to Nancy’s love offering on Saturday night
Flashlight
Pen/Pencil
Highlighter
For baby’s, don’t forget items such as slings, blankets, side rail for bed, highchair or booster and boppy pillow.

Lastly, here are directions and map for traveling to Camp Brotherhood:

Directions

 

From Seattle/Tacoma/Bellevue

Take I-5 North to exit # 208 (Arlington/Sylvana).
Turn right to head East on HWY 530.
Go 3 miles to the first stoplight.
Turn left to head North on HWY 9 for nine miles.
Please note there is a one lane bridge on HWY 9 approx 5 miles north of Arlington, where northbound traffic must yield.
After 9 miles look for Brotherhood Road (just past mile marker 38).
Turn right onto Brotherhood Road and follow this uphill to Camp Brotherhood.

From Mt Vernon/Bellingham/Vancouver, B.C.

Take I-5 South to exit # 221 (Lake McMurray Exit).

Turn left to head East on HWY 534.
Go approximately 6 miles to a ‘T’ in road (at Lake McMurray), turn right (south) onto Highway 9
Go 1.5 miles to Brotherhood Road (past mile marker 39).
Turn left onto Brotherhood Road and follow this uphill to Camp Brotherhood

 

***Warren Center will be on the right had side of the road as you go uphill.  Look for the signs that read Above Rubies Retreat.

Almost there……

Hi everyone,

We are almost there.  Almost time for the retreat!  Many of us are looking forward to coming and enjoying a great time filled with relaxation and great fellowship.  However,  there are a handful of ladies who have been prayerfully asking the Lord to provide a means to come.  We have received a few donations, allowing a couple of them to come, but we still need a bit more.  We need $600 to be exact, by September 9th.  That is less than one week away.  I know that it can be done:)   This would enable these women to come and be blessed.  Any amount would do, it all adds up.  Would you prayerfully consider blessing someone who wants to attend?  For convenience, we have Paypal available.

Registration deadline

Just sending out a reminder for those still considering coming to the retreat.  I have a deadline that is fast approaching concerning numbers for the overnight lodging and meals for all attendees.  This is for those staying, commuting or just coming for Saturday.  You have until the 9th.  I need your registration forms in my hand NO LATER than Saturday the 9th I would appreciate anyone still interested in coming to please send me your registration form, with or without payment.   I understand that finances or decisions might come at the last minute, but it would be nice to see the number of people we are possibly expecting. I need to make sure the lodging is in order and meals are covered.

FYI

The Frequently Asked Questions page is finally up………..just two weeks before the retreat!  Lol!  Oh well, lesson learned.   Delegate, delagate, delagate! 

The FAQ covers quite a bit, however, if there is a question I didn’t touch on, please let me know. 

Also, I am in the final editing of the schedule for the weekend, and boy am I excited!!  The schedule, as well as a “What to bring” letter, will be posted and/or emailed to all registrants this week.

Volunteers needed

I am looking for volunteers to help out during the retreat.  The responsibilities are generally minimal, just little things here and there. For example: Attending Nancy’s book table where she sells her items, helping stock the ladies lodging with a special gift or maybe making name tags for the ladies.   It would in no way interfere with your time of relaxation and rest.  I have a list of needs, if you are interested please let me know.  Volunteers are invaluable to the success of the retreats!   I would sincerely appreciate any help you can give.  Many hands make for light work :)

Hi everyone,
I know that the timing of the retreat may not work out for some of you and therefore are not able to come.  We have a growing list of women who would love to come, but those pesky finances are trying to get in the way.  This is something that I am keeping in prayer.  However, if you feel it on your heart to sponsor someone to come and be blessed, would you please let me know?  It does not have to be the full amount of the registration fee, any amount will do.  God can   s t r e t c h  things, this I know!!

AR Retreat is less than a month away!

It’s getting close, everyone!  The retreat is less than a month away, I can hardly believe it!  Would love to see all of you there who desire to be filled up with God’s Truth about YOU and your life as a wife and mother!  If you have any questions about pricing, accommodations, etc.. please let me know.

Confirmation email delays

Hi everyone,

My apologies for not getting out your confirmation emails for registration and payment. Between summer madness and a teething baby, things are taking a bit longer these days. We got a lot of registration forms both emailed and snail mailed right around the early bird deadline! Thank you Lord for bringing those you want there :) . I will be working on emails and such tomorrow, so be looking for your confirmation. Thank you for your patience!
