**This ends the weekend, please feel free to hang out a bit and enjoy your family a little longer.  Check out is by 3pm.  Thank you for coming!!

I realize that this is a big change, however, this is something that Nancy really wanted.  She asked me to change it because she feels strongly that the children who are able to sit in with the parents should be there.  The little ones who aren’t quite ready to sit in yet, would have the option of being watched across the way in Rogers Hall.  Just a Hop, Skip and a Jump away.  If the children are with the other parents waiting, they are losing valuable lessons being taught.  Of course this is absolutely up to the parents whether they would like to do this or not.  Please lee me know if you have any questions.  skagitvalleyrubies@gmail.com.  Thanks!!

Schedule of events and other useful information

Hello everyone!

It is almost time for the retreat and some good ol’ family time!  Here are a few things to expect while you are here:

Camp Brotherhood has many different recreational activities that your family can explore:

  • Biking and hiking on our beautiful trails
  • Basketball
  • Soccer
  • Volleyball
  • Swimming

Things to mention:

  • Note to Campersthere are only 3 community fire pits in the camping area.  My husband is going to try to get a couple more going before Friday. We will point out to you on Friday where those are located.  There is also another fire pit up in the Fire Circle close to the chapel.  (will point out where that is too.)  **Everyone will be given a map of the grounds.
  • A note on the swimming, there is NO LIFEGUARD on duty, so a parent must be with your children at all times while swimming.
  • Also, any of you who play instruments, please bring them.  We have an Amphitheater down by the fields that you can use for some extra “spontaneous” worship time.
  • Check-in time will be start at 5pm in the Warren Center.  You will receive your room assignments and keys (if applicable), maps and welcome packets at the time of registration.
  • We will be having a snack table and would love for you all to bring something to share.  I can be something very simple like cheese and crackers, fruit, veggies, etc.  This is a very helpful thing for us all to be able to partake of during and in between sessions.

Things to bring:

  • Your own pillows and blankets (except Motel lodgers)
  • Extra towels for the pool – we do have towels here for you to use, however there is a fee.
  • Flashlights, umbrella, mosquito repellent, camera
  • Personal items, toiletries, clothes, jackets, shoes, hiking boots, etc.
  • Bible, paper/pencils or pens, highlighters, etc.
  • Baby items:  High chair/booster seat or a port-a-crib
  • Water bottles
  • Extra money for a love offering for the Campbells as well as money to buy some items at the Above Rubies book table.

3 weeks to go!

Ok everyone,

There is 3 weeks to go until the retreat and I know that there are many of you who are interested, but I have yet to see a registration form!  lol!  If you are planning on coming, and just haven’t had time to print and send the form yet, could you shoot me a quick email letting me know if you are coming?  Then you could print and send the form in asap.  Right now we have less than 10 registered families, however hundreds of hits on the blog, so I know that we have interested families.  I just need to know roughly how many!

So, if you are planning on coming, whether commuting, or staying the weekend, even if you aren’t sure about lodging yet, please email me at skagitvalleyrubies@gmail.com.  I will be able to get a better count for the numbers that the camp is requesting.  Also, we are doing door prizes, so I need to know how many to purchase.  We all love door prizes, right?

Ok, that is it for now.  Talk soon!

More information for you!

Hello everyone,  just wanted to let you know that I finished the Schedule of Events for the weekend and it is available to download on the main page, uner Retreat Information on the right side of the page.

I also made a flyer for the Retreat and would really appreciate if anyone could print and post a couple of these flyers.  We would love for anyone and everyone to be blessed by this retreat!  Look for it under the Retreat Information on the main page as well.

Revisions to the FAQ page

Hello everyone,

I made revisions to the FAQ page, although not much was added to it.  I will be posting the Retreat schedule of events today sometime, so be on the lookout for that.

I will also be posting a brochure and flyer for the retreat.  It would be great if you could please print of a couple and take them to church, your local coffeehouse, or pass them to a friend.  It would be wonderful for as many people as possible to come hear what Colin and Nancy have to say.  We are getting close, only 3 weeks away!

Thanks, and more to come soon!

One month to go!

Hello everyone!  There is just one month to go before the retreat is here, I can’t believe how time flies!  If any of you have any questions regarding the retreat, the schedule or anything else, please feel free to email me at skagitvalleyrubies@gmail.com.  I will be posting more vital information soon, like the schedule, things to bring, what to expect, things to do during down time, etc.

Please be sure to get your registration forms in soon, so we can get an idea of how many families to expect.  This makes everything easier!  Also, the deadline for registering for MEALS is July 29th.  If you order meals after that point, I cannot guarentee that you will have them available.  Another note about meals is that a lot of fellowship happens during meal time. so if any of you would like to bring your own meals up to the Dining Hall, that would be encouraged.

That is it for now, more to come!

Retreat pricing changes

Just a quick note to let you know that there were some changes made to the Retreat pricing.  There were reductions that were made, due to some oversight on my part. Please  take a minute to look if you would like.  If you have any questions regarding these changes, please let me know!

A few pictures of Camp Brotherhood

Hello everyone!

I thought that it might be helpful to post a few pictures of the camping area for any of those choosing that option.  There is a possibility of an additional picnic shelter and bathroom being completed prior to the event.  Yay!    We will also have very clean port-a-potties around the area.   More info to come!  Let me know if you have any questions!

Couple of things…….

Hello everyone!

I am so encouraged to see all the interest in the Family Camp.  I am please to announce that we have received our first registration! So much earlier than last year and it makes me very excited to see more come in!

On the topic of registration, there seems to be some concern about how expensive the Motel pricing is.  Please keep in mind this is our most expensive option. Generally, ladies are coming to the retreats with maybe one of our daughters, and the price is somewhat low.  Now, we are bringing the whole family and that price increases.   As one lady told me, she had sticker shock!  I just want to encourage you to consider this a family vacation, and with those come a few dollar signs.  🙂  If you have any questions at all, please let me know.

Blessings to you and yours!

Hello there,

Well, looks like I had 2 registration forms up on the blog, one from the ladies retreat and the new one for Family Camp 2012.  I went ahead and deleted the old one and changed the format of the one for 2012.  Hopefully it will be easier to read.:)  Let me know if you have any questions!

Blessings to you and yours;
